Friction in all the Right Places
With Friedrich Kirschner from Three More Years
In this talk, Friedrich Kirschner from Three More Years asks where artistic friction can be deliberately applied in the video game development process – and what added value it can have for artistic creation. When is friction understood as an expression of artistic integrity? When is it recognizable as a conscious tool? When does it remain merely an empty signal? And who decides? The lecture combines historical observations from the game art scene of the early 2000s with a very subjective analysis of current trends in artistic intention within the video game sector.
