How WINGS Use Project Financing to Empower Gender Marginalized Developers.

Dortmunder U, Discussion, Talk

This talk explores the structure and background of the WINGS Fund’s financing model. What’s the difference between collaborating with a publisher and project financing through a game fund? What should you keep in mind when pitching? Even if your project doesn’t fit WINGS’ funding profile, this presentation is relevant for anyone looking to present and finance their games.

About WINGS:
WINGS is an international fund dedicated to supporting indie games developed by women and gender-marginalized individuals in leadership roles. It provides project-based financing and strategic consulting without taking creative control. Funded teams retain their rights and self-publish their games. The selection committee comprises exclusively experienced women from the games industry, evaluating projects based on originality, playability, and market potential. WINGS aims to promote greater diversity and equality in gaming, helping teams achieve economic independence and sustainable success.
