Department of Interfaced Dimensions (D.I.D)

Department of Interfaced Dimensions (D.I.D) is an interactive mixed reality experience that intertwines digital game mechanics with physical props and virtual worlds. The work invites you to enter alternative realities and switch roles again and again: sometimes as an observer, sometimes as a manipulator, sometimes as a fellow player. This creates a network of surveillance, interaction and cooperation that raises questions about identity, agency and control. Instead of leaving the participants in the isolation of a VR environment, D.I.D relies on collective experience. The focus is on human interaction, group dynamics and empathy aspects, which can be experienced in the interplay between virtual levels and kinetic objects.
